Narrative and philosophical writings, poetry, theatre, painting, music, and sculpture have provided cultural masterpieces throughout history that are meaningful and relevant to the most important concerns of humanity. As digital media become increasingly ubiquitous and involved with nearly every aspect of our lives, it is vital to recognize the social function of media and to create meaningful media content that contributes to the human condition.
